Day 1: Arrive Addis Ababa

His-Cul Ethiopia Tours will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. If your arrival time is in the morning hours, you’ll begin your tour after hotel check-in and if your arrival time is in the afternoon or evening time, you will begin your tour the following day. Overnight stay in a hotel.

 

Day 2: Addis Ababa Tours

Visit the Trinity Cathedral Church, the largest Orthodox Christian Church in Addis Ababa and theEthnographic Museum, a great introduction to Ethiopian culture and history. After lunch, drive toEntoto Natural Park where you can see the stupendous view over the city. In your return journey, youwill have some stops at Sheromeda to see some traditional cloth markets. Overnight stay in a hotel.

 

Day 3: Addis Ababa – Bahir Dar

Early morning, a short flight will take you to Bahir dar. Upon arrival, you will be met by our tour guides,drive to a hotel where you will check-in your hotel and rest for few minutes. Your first visit will be toLake Tana on a boat ride where you will visit the medieval period island monasteries (beautiful muralpaintings, religious books & sacred) on Lake Tana such as Kibran Gabriel (only for men), and on thepeninsula visit Ura Kidane Mehiret, Azuwa Mariam, Mahal Giorgis. After lunch, you will drive (some 30Km) and visit the Blue Nile Falls. In the evening, you will have dinner and stay the night at the hotel.Overnight stay in a hotel.

 

Day 4: Bahir Dar – Gondar

You will be driven to Gondar (185 Km) Then, you will visit the Royal Castles (built in the 17th CenturyA.D. that is surrounded by high stone walls containing the 17th century palaces of King Fassiladas, KingIyasu and Queen Mentewab and different other buildings.), the Bath of Emperor Fasiledes (the bath isfilled with water for the important Timkat (epiphany) ceremony once a year. The ceremony replicatesChrist’s baptism in the Jordan River and is seen as an important renewal of faith. Debre Birhan SelassieChurch (Trinity at the Mount of Light) has a ceiling decorated with beautiful winged Angels, and its wallswith an impressive scene depicting biblical events, including; St. Mary, the Saints, martyrs and the life ofChrist. Overnight stay in a hotel.

 

Day 5: Gondar – Axum

Early morning, a short flight will take you to Axum where you will check into a hotel. After a short break,you will visit the Stelae of Axum, the Inscription of Ezana, Queen Sheba’s Palace, the Famous St. Mary ofZion Church, Ruins of Ancient Palaces (built until 4th Century A.D.), all day with the lunch break inbetween. In the evening, you will get back to the hotel and spend the night there. Overnight stay in ahotel.

 

Day 6: Axum – Lalibela

After breakfast, another short flight will take you to Lalibela. Upon arrival, you will be met by our tour
guide, drive to a hotel where you will check and rest for few minutes. Your first visit will be to the eleven Rock-hewn Monolithic (carved from a single rock) Churches of Lalibela (UNESCO World heritage site, with magnificent architecture & paintings inside the churches). Overnight stay in a hotel.

 

Day 7: Axum – Addis Ababa – Departure

After a relaxed breakfast, a short flight will bring you back to Addis Ababa. After arrival you will havefree leisure time for shopping and finally you will be transferred to the airport for your departure.
