Day 1: ARRIVE ADDIS ABABA

Arrive Addis Ababa airport and transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay in a hotel.

 

Day 2: ADDIS ABABA – AWASH NATIONAL PARK 

Drive to Awash National Park to see Red-fronted Barbet, the Lesser-striped Swallow, Yellow-throatedSerine, Bustards, & Red-bellied Parrots. Overnight stay in a lodge.

 

Day 3: Full DAY IN AND NEAR AWASH NATIONAL PARK  

Explore more to see bustards, larks, sandgrouse and other bird species. Overnight stay in a lodge.

 

Day 4: AWASH NATIONAL PARK – LANGANO

Drive from Awash to Langano with some stops in between to see several species of birds such as LittleWeaver, Yellow-billed storks, Collared Pratincole, Lesser Jacana, African Jacana, White Pelicans, FishEagles, and crowned and common cranes, the African Pygmy Goose, Black-billed Woodhoopoe,Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Northern Black Tit. Overnight stay in a hotel.

 

Day 5: FULL DAY NEAR LAKE LANGANO 

Some of the birds which you can visit them in today’s activity include Swallows, Chestnut-belliedSandgrouse, Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Rollers, Wheatear, African Marsh Harrier, Yellow Wagtails, Ibis,Cormorant, Pelicans, Ducks, Egrets, Herons, Flamingos, Storks and more. Overnight stay in a hotel.

 

Day 6: LAKE ANGANO – BALE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK  

After breakfast, drive from Langano to Bale Mountains National Park passing through Wondogenet. Some of the bird species which you can visit at the headquarters of the park include the Blue-WingedGoose, the Spot-Breasted Lapwing, the Abyssinian Long Claw, the Wattled Ibis, the Black-Headed Siskin,Rouget’s Rail, and numerous other species. Overnight stay in a hotel.

 

Day 7: BALE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK 

Explore more the park to see more birds such as the secretive Abyssinia Ground- thrush, the vocalAbyssinian Catbird, the endemic White-backed Black-Tit, Chestnut-naped Francolin, and Ground Thrush(of the distinctive, endemic species Simensis). Overnight stay in a hotel.

 

Day 8: BALE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK – NEGELE BORENA 

After breakfast, drive from Bale Mts. National Park to Negele Borena which involves several stops inbetween to see different birds. At Negele Borena you will see Heuglin’s Bustard, the Somali Short-toedLark & Sidamo Lark. Overnight stay in a hotel.

 

Day 9: NEGELE BORENA 

Full day search for Chestnut-headed Sparrow-lark, and the Scaly Chatterer, the Sidamo Lark, the White-winged Dove and Juba Weaver, two prized sightings in the area, plus Black-faced Sandgrouse. Overnightstay in a hotel.

 

Day 10: NEGELE BORENA – YABELLO BORENA  

Drive from Negele Borena to Yabello Borena for a 2 night stay to search for and Stresemann’s Bushcrow& White-tailed Swallow. Yabello Wildlife Sanctuary is where you’ll spend most of your time today. Atthis sanctuary, you can find Short-tailed Lark, Northern Grey Tit, Shelley’s and White-crowned Starlings,Abyssinian Grosbeak Canary, Somali Sparrow, Black-capped Social Weaver, Grey-headed Silverbill, TaitaFiscal, and Somali Golden-breasted Bunting, Martial Eagle, Grasshopper Buzzard, African Pygmy Falcon,Vulturine Guineafowl, Kori Bustard, Donaldson-Smith’s Nightjar, Star-spotted Nightjar, Yellow-billedHornbill, Lilac-breasted Roller, Rufous-crowned Roller, D’Arnaud’s Barbet, Red and Yellow Barbet,Somalian Ostrich, Secretary Bird and Ruppell’s Griffon Vulture.

 

Day 11: YABELLO BORENA – HAWASSA 

Drive from Yabello Borena to Hawassa. In this drive you’ll have a chance to see Black and White Egrets,African Pygmy Goose, Spur-winged Goose, Swallows, Woodland Kingfisher, Malachite Kingfisher, Silvery-Cheeked Hornbill, Abysinnian Ground Hornbill, Roget's Rail, Marabou Stork, Ibis & African Fish Egret.

 

Day 12: HAWASSA – ADDIS ABABA – DEPARTURE 

Drive back to Addis Ababa, refresh yourselves at your hotel and finally, be transferred to the airport foryour flight back to home.
