Day 1: ARRIVE ADDIS ABABA

Arrive Addis Ababa and be transferred to your hotel. The balance of the day would be at your leisure.Overnight stay in a hotel.Historical Tour

 

Day 2: ADDIS ABABA – MEKELLE – LAKE AFRERA

After early breakfast, fly to Mekelle. And from Mekelle drive to Lake Afrera. Overnight stay camping.

 

Day 3: LAKE AFRERA – ERTA ALE

In the morning, drive from Lake Afrera to Dodom, the base camp for trekking up Erta Ale and where you will spend the night atop the volcano. Overnight stay camping.

 

Day 4: ERTA ALE – HAMED ELA

Enjoy the morning sunrise from atop Erta Ale and visit the north crater. Have your breakfast at the baseat Dodom and after that head to Hamed Ela. Overnight stay camping.

 

Day 5: HAMED ELA – DALLOL

In the morning, drive to Dallol where the Dallol sulphur springs add a kaleidoscope of colour to anotherwise Martian desert landscape. After visiting Dallol, explore some of the salt mounds in the regionbefore heading to Lake Asale for a dip in the lake and the adjacent hot spring. Overnight stay camping.

 

Day 6: DALLOL – MEKELLE

In the morning, visit Ragad (Asebo) where locals mine salt. Head back to Hamed Ela where camp ispacked up before proceeding to Mekele. Overnight stay in a hotel.

 

Day 7: MEKELLE – ADDIS ABABA – DEPARTURE

Fly back to Addis Ababa, visit National Museum & Ethnological Museum an finally transfer to the airportfor your flight.
